Quaint and Quiet

A couple of Saturdays ago, we went on a quest for old SC dispensary bottles.  We ended up in Donalds, SC at this quaint old farm--now owned by a couple originally from New York.  She was also a photography buff and we talked and I wandered around taking pictures.  I hope to go back int the Spring when flowers will be blooming.

Waiting

I just love my mom's garden. This old wheelbarrow has held flowers and even the birdseed from Meredith's wedding. Now it sits rather lonesomely under a tree. It appears to be waiting for its next job.

Shiny but not new

Took this shot at our Isbell family reunion on Sunday. Someone in the family has restored this beautiful old car. I always wonder about the history of old cars--who road in them--where they have been. Not sure if this one was in the family all along or was purchased for its beauty.

Ghost Bridge

Taken at Tallulah Gorge State Park in Georgia. Looks like the remnants of an old railroad bridge but I don't know any history of it. It was just an appealing shot. I love how the woods have just swallowed everything up. It was cold and rainy the day we visited. I hope to go back. There are some good photo opportunities here.

Something Old

This is a little antique shop on the square in Pendleton, SC. I was in Pendleton setting up a bridesmaids luncheon for my daughter's upcoming wedding. Just noticed the sign over this shop. The paint was peeling away to reveal that it was probably once a drug store. (That's a Rexall Drug sign hiding underneath.) It had an interesting appeal. I'm not sure I like that lamp post right in the middle. Wish I had taken a few more shots from different perspectives, but this is all I got. I am learning by making mistakes.
