Quaint and Quiet

A couple of Saturdays ago, we went on a quest for old SC dispensary bottles.  We ended up in Donalds, SC at this quaint old farm--now owned by a couple originally from New York.  She was also a photography buff and we talked and I wandered around taking pictures.  I hope to go back int the Spring when flowers will be blooming.

Along the street

To really "see" Charleston, you have to take a stroll down some of the streets in the older parts of town. Ronnie and I parked near the battery and just ambled our way up and down a few of the streets. How neat to peer over a fence or through a gate and see the lovely gardens beyond. It is quite easy to close your eyes and imagine how it was 200 years ago along these quiet thoroughfares.

Demolition Started

My youngest daughter and her fiance have bought their first home. It was a foreclosure and needs a lot of work, but they are very excited about doing it together. So our days are consumed now with tearing down wallpaper, scraping ceiling, and doing demolition. They will be married in less than 4 weeks and I don't think we will get it all done. (They do have temporary shelter until the work is done.) Here Meredith has taken the ugly window air conditioning unit out. She has been wanting to do that for weeks as they waited for the closing. See below for a before picture.

Keep checking back for updates on the house--we will be documenting the work in pictures.
