The Lake-Our Favorite Place

Ronnie and I spent Monday-Thursday this week at my parent's lake cottage. It was a relaxing time, except I had to go to school every day. But Ronnie cooked supper each night and we listened to the frogs and crickets, fished a little from the dock, and enjoyed the peace and quiet. I had a pretty busy week at school so it was a nice respite each evening.

Painted Sky

There is nothing more beautiful than a sunset. This was the view across the lake from our cabin on Lake Jocasee. My only complaint was that it did not last long enough. We enjoyed just sitting and looking across the lake.

Sun Rays

Another photo I took looking out over Hartwell from the Hartwell Dam. I will be going back to some of my older shots for the next few days as my camera is having issues and had to be sent off for repairs. I hate it!! Hopefully it will be back in a week or so.

Lake View

My husband and I love the lake. One of our favorite spots is the walking track along the Hartwell Dam. We try to get over there on Saturday or Sunday afternoons to take Sadie, our springer spaniel. I often take my camera hoping for a glorious sunset. Usually, if I forget my camera there is one. On this day the sun was sending rays streaming through the clouds and the water seemed to have a blue color even though most of the time the water looks green. We are so happy to see the lake level rising again. Lake Hartwell is a beautiful lake to spend a summer afternoon just quietly floating and enjoying some sun.

Ghost Bridge

Taken at Tallulah Gorge State Park in Georgia. Looks like the remnants of an old railroad bridge but I don't know any history of it. It was just an appealing shot. I love how the woods have just swallowed everything up. It was cold and rainy the day we visited. I hope to go back. There are some good photo opportunities here.

Catch of the Day

Technically this is not the best shot but it is one my favorites. This is my dad and he loves to fish. I was able to capture this shot from his dock as he fished in the cove. The fish wasn't so big and the picture isn't the best but I captured a moment that I will have forever. This is how I would like to remember my dad. Sometimes photos are about what it means to the photographer more than just being the greatest shot. At least that is my opinion.
