Finally Done!!

At the beginning of the summer, I commented several times on the deck we were building. Today I am posted a shot of the finished deck. I am so proud of Ronnie because he did most of it himself. I did the landscaping. We talked about doing this for 10 years and can't believe we waited this long. We love it. Almost every night we go to sit on the deck and enjoy the stars. Our springer spaniel, Sadie, love the deck too. If we haven't gone out by 10:00, she is standing at the door waiting. For this fall, we have purchased one of those fire pits. Can't wait to use it too.

I have been so busy this summer that I haven't taken much time to shoot. So I am looking through my archives and came across this shot from last July. Blossoms from my hosta.

Spring Dance

Took this shot at the Clemson Botanical Garden a few weeks ago. After looking back through my images tonight noticed that it looked as though these two were dancing--thus the title. Took this with my 50 mm lens. Love the depth of field I can get with the lens but sometimes I am a bit off on the focus. Not sure about the out of focus at the bottom but it does seem to portray a bit of motion. What do you think?

Ready for Occupants

My dad has a real creative flair. This is a bird house he build a few years ago. I think it is quite appealing in my mom's flower garden.

Anna's Iris

Iris are beautiful flowers. They just don't stick around long enough. Taken Mother's Day week-end in my sister, Anna's yard.

Bursting with Bloom

The azaleas in my yard are bursting with blooms. I love this time of year when everything is new and green and colorful.

Falls Park, Greenville, SC

On Sunday my husband and I went to our early service at church and then headed over to Falls Park in downtown Greenville. I am ashamed to say I live 30 miles away and have never been. I will return. The park is beautiful. The city of Greenville is to be commended for such a beautiful green place in downtown. Flowers were blooming everywhere. The grass was so beautiful and green. And the architecture of the bridges and building adds to the beauty. But most peaceful of all is the river. I love the sight and sound of rushing water. We found a quiet bench and just sat and enjoyed the scenery and watched people. It was a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Celebrating Friendship

Saturday was a special day. We had a retirement drop in for a dear friend. She had been the school secretary at the school where I teach for 30 years and with Anderson District 5 for 35 years. Several of us who love her dearly had a drop-in and invited many of the teachers and adminstrators from years past. We had a glorious time renewing old friendships.
