There is nothing more beautiful than a sunset. This was the view across the lake from our cabin on Lake Jocasee. My only complaint was that it did not last long enough. We enjoyed just sitting and looking across the lake.

Falls at the Lake
Ronnie and I spent the long Memorial Day week-end in a villa at Lake Jocasee. What a beautiful lake. If you have never been there--it is a must visit. Only about an hour drive from Anderson it is situated in a gorge with mountains surrounding it on all sides. This is a shot I took a couple of years ago. (I haven't downloaded my shots from this week-end.) There are several waterfalls that you can see from your boat. This one cascades right into the lake and you can pull your boat right up to it. We have decided this may be the lake we visit on the week-ends as Hartwell is just too busy!!

Let's take a look back...
Here is an oldie. That's me in the middle. The oldest child with my dear parents. They have been the firm foundation in my life. They have given me my faith, integrity, optimism, drive and determination. I grew up feeling safe and loved and although they struggled sometimes to make ends meet, I thought that we were rich!! And we were--in all the things that count the most. I thank God everyday for my parents and that I still have them with me. I am truly blessed.

Carpenters
Ronnie and I have taken on a project! We are building a deck. We have never taken on something like this before and we are learning as we go. Ronnie is doing most of the work with help from my dad and his dad. I am the holder, go-fer, dummy end of the measuring tape, and encourager. I am so proud of Ronnie's hard work. He has worked on it everyday for the last week. We have talked about this deck for about 10 years and we are finally doing it. I can't wait until it is finished. It will be grand. Here are a few more shots.

Gentle Giants
Captured here is a whale shark at the Georgia Aquarium. It is the largest fish in the world and is not really a whale but called so because of its size. Despite their size they only eat very small fish, plankton, and crustaceans because they are filter feeders. They were amazing to watch.

Dancing in the Blue
If you have never been to the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta be sure you make that 2 hour trip. It is well worth it. There is amazing views of underwater life. I will post a some shots over the next days. The shooting is a bit difficult. The faster lens you have the better. I was a bit disappointed in some of my shots but I am trying to do some editing to make them better.

Lovely Tree
Since I don't have my camera I am having to go back to some of my old shots. I just learned that my camera is back at Best Buy so I will have it tomorrow. Yeah! This is a pink dogwood in my yard that was so beautiful just a few weeks ago. It is one of my favorite trees.

Wedding Day--Come and Gone
Okay--I know you are tired of hearing about this wedding. So it is finally over! And it was glorious. It couldn't have been any better. The wedding was lovely and the reception was perfect. A couple of quick stories--just as the wedding began a thunderstorm blew in. Reese (the groom) had just finished saying his vows ending with "in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The moment he said these last words there came a fierce clap of thunder. The entire congregation burst into laughter--it was a God inspired moment. Reese said God was sounding his agreement. Ronnie-father of the bride-said God was reminding Reese that he better mean what he said.
Now for the 2nd tale. At the reception, Reese was trying to do some type of break dancing on the dance floor. He broke his thumb--didn't tell anyone about it for about an hour. Then decided he better. To make a long story short--they had to go to the emergency room at midnight before leaving for Charlotte, NC. The folks there were wonderful and rushed them through. They got to Charlotte at 4:20 am and got about an hour of sleep before having to rise and shine and head for the airport. (They are now in Jamaica!) I last talked to Meredith on Saturday morning at 8:00am as they waited for their flight. Can't wait to hear about their trip.

With this Ring--Wedding Tomorrow
Tomorrow is the WEDDING and I have not had any time to shoot or barely think. No I did not take this shot but borrowed it from http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeffbelmonte/15921928/sizes/m/ on Flickr under the Creative Commons license. The church is ready. The barn is decorated for the reception. The bills are paid. We have all rehearsed. And now for a good night's sleep. I know it will be a beautiful day regardless of the weather.
