The leaves are falling fast so I must get as many shots as I can.  My yard--November 2011.

Fall Reflections

While driving around in the mountains of North Carolina, Ronnie and I discovered Montreat, NC.  What a beautiful little town.  They even had a lake named after me.

Doors and Windows

This one just struck me as rather strange. And yes that was the color of the building.

Left Behind

Participated in the Scott Kelby World Wide Walk this morning.  Met with members of the Electric City Photo Club and walked around downtown Anderson, SC.  Got some good shots of old parts of the city.  Kind of sad to see the dilapidation but good for photography.  This is an old ledger that was in the old Anderson Hardware Store. It had dates from 1913. The store still has the shelves and lots of old stuff still there.  I don't know when it closed--but I don't remember it has a child.

Goodbye Summer

Ronnie and I have enjoyed spending each evening this summer on our deck--just relaxing.  I posted this shot at the beginning of the summer.  I am reposting as I think about approaching cold weather.  I love fall but hate winter.  (Except for a day or 2 of snow.)  In just a few short weeks the cold winds will blow and we will be indoors for 3-4 months.  I need a new flag that says Good bye for now.

Beautiful Ruins

Ruins of Sheldon Church of Prince William Parish.  Beaufort, South Carolina
The church was originally built in 1745 and 1755.  It was burned during the Revolutionary War.   The church was rebuilt in 1846 but again burned in on January 14, 1865 during the Civil War as part of Sherman's March to the Sea campaign.  What an amazing piece of history in South Carolina and well worth a visit if you are in the lower part of the state.

Lovely Lily

The drought has hit my day lilies pretty hard but there are a few that are still blooming.
One of my favorite flowers because they are so easy to grow!

Worth the Wait

Finally got my clematis to bloom.  I have been petting this plant for years.  Maybe it was worth the wait.

Spring by the Pond

I love all the greens of spring.  It shows up so beautifully by my parents' pond.

Shem Creek

Ronnie and I stayed on Shem Creek on our recent visit to Charleston.  It was relaxing and interesting being right on the creek.
Not sure what this was--maybe a floating art gallery.
And I think maybe this was overkill.

A Wreck at The Wreck

While visiting Charleston Ronnie and I ate at a local "joint" called The Wreck.  It wasn't much of a looker but the food was great!  It is located near the mouth of Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant.  This wreck was in their back yard.  Read more about the restuarant and check if out of you are in the area. http://www.wreckrc.com/

Around Town

Sometimes I forget what interesting things I can find if I just stop to take a real look.

Just around the corner

I am so glad that spring is almost here.  The dreary days of winter begin to weigh on my spirit.  This week-end the 70 degree days gave me a chance to dust off my camera and lay on the ground to find some beautiful shots.

Frozen

Snow in January--stayed on the ground for 5 or 6 days.  Very unusual for the south.  Glad it came and glad it's gone.  I am ready for spring and some COLOR.

Textures in Gray

I have joined the Project 52 at the MCP blogI am a bit late getting started and missed Week 1 & 2.  This week's theme is Shades of Gray.  Images do not have to follow the theme but I am going to give it a try!  Take a look at their Flickr page to see a variety of shots and if you are interested, check out their Facebook page to learn more about the project.  I love all the different textures in this shot and how they look in black and white.

Snow Day

We don't get a lot of snow in Anderson and when we do it stops us all in our tracks.   We are not going on Day 4 and most of us are now going stir crazy.  It is beautiful for one day but I am ready for warmer weather.
