Dig In!

Nothing better than digging into your birthday cake.  Wish I could still do this at 53!

In the Light

Loved the light streaming across the bridge.  Taken in Knoxville, TN.  Loved this bridge--it had an aesthetic structure.

Chuck is Back!

Good old Chuck Taylor Hightops--the sneaker of choice back in my high school basketball days.  Of course, back then (35 years!!!) they were the only shoe of choice.  It is funny that my 28 year old son now owns a pair and loves them.  It really is true that EVERYTHING will come back in style eventually.  Hang onto those old things in your closet--they will be stylish again soon.

Don't Be Fooled

While on our trip to the mountains, Ronnie and I visited the Knoxville Zoo.  It was small but had some very beautiful and interesting creatures.  When I saw this fellow basking in the sun, I immediately said--hyena.  I was wrong.  This is an African wild dog.  Upon further reading, I found out that hyenas are more closely related to cats. In our world today sometimes things are not what they seem.  We must depend on God's Word and the whispering of the Holy Spirit to lead us.  1 John 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.

Don't let yourself get rusty

If we sit around like this old truck we can get rusty and things will start to grow that maybe we don't need in our lives. So as we start this new year--get up and get going. My goals ( I refuse to call them resolutions!) are to read my Bible more--rely on God to lead me; to exercise and lose some weight; to cherish my family every minute; to love others and look for ways to show it. I will get up and get going--I refuse to get rusty. (By the way--I took this shot on our recent trip to the Smoky Mountains and it is one of my favorites!)
