Wedding Day--Come and Gone

Okay--I know you are tired of hearing about this wedding. So it is finally over! And it was glorious. It couldn't have been any better. The wedding was lovely and the reception was perfect. A couple of quick stories--just as the wedding began a thunderstorm blew in. Reese (the groom) had just finished saying his vows ending with "in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The moment he said these last words there came a fierce clap of thunder. The entire congregation burst into laughter--it was a God inspired moment. Reese said God was sounding his agreement. Ronnie-father of the bride-said God was reminding Reese that he better mean what he said.

Now for the 2nd tale. At the reception, Reese was trying to do some type of break dancing on the dance floor. He broke his thumb--didn't tell anyone about it for about an hour. Then decided he better. To make a long story short--they had to go to the emergency room at midnight before leaving for Charlotte, NC. The folks there were wonderful and rushed them through. They got to Charlotte at 4:20 am and got about an hour of sleep before having to rise and shine and head for the airport. (They are now in Jamaica!) I last talked to Meredith on Saturday morning at 8:00am as they waited for their flight. Can't wait to hear about their trip.
Photo courtesy of a dear friend--Rita Cantrell--who is also our hair dresser. We wouldn't have looked so pretty without her.

I'm glad that it went so perfectly and I can't wait to see more photos. What stories they'll have to tell their future children about their wedding!

Now that the weddings over, I hope we can plan that photo trek.

Oh, BTW, my hairdresser is Caren, Rita's partner. It really is a small world!

Every wedding has to have at least one story that's unusual. It's probably what they tell their grandchildren. My cousin officiated. He was eighty at the time and mis-pronounced my name (Regina). You can imagine. Everybody laughed.
